PATIENT ACCOUNTS:
Patient Advocates

For a person involved in a traumatic medical emergency, the associated
post-incident bills, insurance and health issues can be overwhelming to
what may already be a life-changing event. The patient account
representatives at Air Evac Lifeteam understand the stresses related to
dealing with these issues and are dedicated to making its patients’
experience as comfortable as possible.
Using a patient-first approach to medical billing, Air
Evac Lifeteam believes that its patients are its family members and
should be treated as such. The care of patients does not end when
medical crews turn the patient over to a medical facility. That’s when
the second phase of care begins, as the hundreds of letters and
testimonials Air Evac Lifeteam receives each year from its patients and
their loved ones can attest.
Air Evac Lifeteam patient account representatives serve as patient
advocates throughout the billing and collecting process, providing
additional assistance by:
- Filing insurance and third party claims;
- Billing Medicare or Medicaid where applicable;
- Working with each patient individually to set up a personalized
repayment plan; and
- Acting on behalf of the patient with any other billing/collection
issues that arise.
Headed by a management team with 40 years of combined
experience in air medical billing, Air Evac Lifeteam’s patient accounts
department of more than 120 employees is the largest dedicated air
ambulance billing group in the United States.
